We are looking for an Investment Banker to valuate companies and assist clients in raising capital. You’ll be responsible for effective underwriting, as well as analyzing and closing finance deals.

Quantitative skills and sound judgement are critical. You should also be familiar with underwriting procedures and regulations. If you’re also an excellent communicator and enjoy working in a dynamic environment, we’d like to meet you.

  • Proven experience as an Investment Banker or Underwriter
  • Experience with valuation, modeling and forecasting
  • Knowledge of regulations covering securities and M&As
  • Solid grasp of current market developments
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Outstanding communication ability (written and oral)
  • Strong work ethic and professionalism
  • Valid license (e.g. Series 7 & 66); professional certification (e.g. CFA) is an asset
  • BSc/BA in finance, business administration or similar field; graduate degree is a plus

What does Investment Banker do?

On a day-to-day basis, an investment banker typically performs a range of activities, including:

  1. Research and Analysis: Conducting extensive research and analysis of financial markets, industries, and companies to identify potential investment opportunities and market trends.

  2. Building Relationships: Interacting with clients to understand their investment goals, providing financial advice, and building relationships with institutional investors, fund managers, and corporate clients.

  3. Financial Modeling: Creating and maintaining complex financial models to evaluate investment opportunities, conduct valuations, and forecast financial performance.

  4. Due Diligence: Conducting due diligence on potential investment opportunities, including analyzing financial statements, industry trends, and conducting background checks on companies.

  6. Deal Execution: Assisting in the negotiation and structuring of corporate finance transactions, such as mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings (IPOs), debt and equity offerings, and other capital-raising activities.

  7. Networking: Participating in client meetings, industry conferences, and networking events to generate business leads, maintain client relationships, and stay updated on market trends.

  8. Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring compliance with various regulatory requirements, such as Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations, industry guidelines, and internal policies.

  9. Team Collaboration: Collaborating with colleagues in different departments, such as corporate finance, sales and trading, compliance, and legal, to coordinate and execute client transactions.

  10. Continuous Learning: Keeping abreast of the latest developments in financial markets, regulations, and investment strategies through ongoing professional development, industry publications, and attending training sessions.
