  2. Prescribing medication: Based on their evaluation and diagnosis, psychiatrists prescribe medications to manage mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and others.

  3. Providing psychotherapy: Psychiatrists can also provide psychotherapy or talk therapy to patients. They may use various approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, or family therapy to help patients understand and manage their mental health issues.

  4. Monitoring treatment progress: Psychiatrists regularly meet with their patients to monitor their progress, adjust medications if necessary, and provide ongoing support.

  5. Collaborating with other healthcare professionals: Psychiatrists often work in multidisciplinary teams, collaborating with psychologists, social workers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients.

  6. Keeping up with research and advances: Psychiatrists stay updated with the latest research and advances in the field of mental health to provide evidence-based treatment options to their patients.
