We are looking for an experienced dermatologist to join our medical practice.
Evaluating the patients’ skin health condition and analyzing their medical history will comprise your primary day-to-day dermatologist responsibilities. You’ll examine patients and determine dermatological treatments (e.g. medication, non-invasive surgeries). You’ll also monitor and report on treatment progress and refer patients to other specialists if needed.
For this role, it’s important that you have previous experience working as a dermatologist without supervision (including using dermatological tools like dermal punch, lancet extractors, etc.). You also need a valid government medical license.
If you are a compassionate, detail-oriented person with strong work ethic, we’d like to hear from you.
A dermatologist is a medical professional who specializes in diagnosing and treating conditions related to the skin, hair, and nails. On a day-to-day basis, a dermatologist typically performs the following tasks:
Patient Consultations: Dermatologists meet with patients to discuss their concerns, symptoms, and medical history. They perform thorough examinations of the skin, hair, or nails to identify any abnormalities.
Diagnosis: Based on the patient's symptoms, physical examination, and sometimes additional tests, dermatologists diagnose skin conditions such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, skin cancer, or infections. They may use tools like a dermatoscope to examine moles in detail.
Treatment Planning: After diagnosing a condition, dermatologists develop treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs. This may involve prescribing medications, topical creams, or ointments, recommending lifestyle changes, or performing procedures like biopsies or skin surgeries.
Medical Procedures: Dermatologists perform various medical procedures, including skin biopsies, cryotherapy (freezing off skin growths), excisions (surgical removal of skin lesions or tumors), or laser therapy for hair removal, tattoo removal, or skin resurfacing.
Cosmetic Procedures: Some dermatologists also offer cosmetic procedures to improve patients' appearance. These may include Botox injections, dermal fillers, chemical peels, or laser treatments for wrinkles, scars, or age spots.
Follow-up Appointments: Dermatologists often schedule follow-up appointments to monitor the progress of ongoing treatments, make adjustments as necessary, or provide additional guidance.
Collaboration: Dermatologists frequently collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as oncologists (in the case of skin cancer), allergists (for allergic skin conditions), or plastic surgeons (for reconstructive procedures).
Research and Continuing Education: Many dermatologists engage in research to advance their field's knowledge and improve treatment options. They may also participate in conferences, workshops, or seminars to stay updated with the latest advancements in dermatology.
It's important to note that the specific day-to-day tasks may vary depending on the dermatologist's specialization, such as pediatric dermatology, cosmetic dermatology, or dermatopathology.
