Job Brief

We are looking for a reliable Handyman to undertake upkeep and repair tasks at the interior or exterior of company premises. We’ll rely on you to keep our facilities in perfect condition by doing various odd jobs.

Deft hands and technical knowledge are important parts of a handyman’s arsenal. You must be well-organized with strong general repair skills. A keen eye for detail and physical stamina are valued greatly in this job.

Responsibilities

Clean facilities by sweeping, dusting etc.
Perform maintenance and light repairs
Perform routine landscaping on the grounds
Paint and fill gaps or crevices (on walls, sidewalks etc.)
Undertake light installation or carpenting (e.g. build cabinets)
Repair equipment or appliances
Assist tradespeople with electrical, plumbing or HVAC repairs
Undertake duties as assigned or emergency tasks (e.g. shoveling snow)
Identify and report the need for major repairs

Requirements

Proven experience as handyman
Experience with hardware tools and electrical equipment
Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing or HVAC systems
Basic math skills
Good communication ability
Well-organized and apt in problem-solving
Attention to detail
High school diploma or equivalent

A handyman is responsible for performing various maintenance and repair tasks in residential or commercial settings. On a day-to-day basis, their job may involve:

Performing routine maintenance tasks such as fixing leaky faucets, repairing or replacing broken fixtures, and patching holes in walls.
Handling minor electrical repairs like fixing faulty switches or outlets, replacing light fixtures, or troubleshooting wiring issues.
Troubleshooting and repairing plumbing problems, including unclogging drains, fixing toilet issues, or repairing/ replacing pipes.
Conducting general carpentry work such as repairing or installing cabinets, shelves, doors, or windows.
Repairing or replacing damaged flooring, tiles, or carpets.
Painting walls, ceilings, or exteriors.
Assembling furniture or installing appliances.
Maintaining and repairing outdoor spaces, such as cleaning gutters, repairing fences, or performing minor landscaping tasks.
Assessing and repairing various household appliances.
Assisting with general maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs, smoke detector batteries, or air filters.
